We are a family farm operation working to show respect for the land, our animals, our friends, family, and customers, and our earth. We do this by farming in the most sustainable and humanely way possible. We hope you will join us on this journey, the earth is our mother, so let's take care of her!
Timber Ridge Farm has been in the Whorley family since the 1970’s. Eight years ago, Vince began the process of healing the land and improving biodiversity by selectively excluding cattle from one of the creeks on the farm and by rotationally grazing the cattle, giving the pastures time to heal between rotations. It has been amazing to see how the land has changed and to watch species like quail return to the farm. Since then, we have incorporated goats into our farming venture. The goats and cattle work together, each species eating varieties that the other will not, and by controlling each other’s parasites, as parasites are host specific. The farm is also home to an 18 hole Champion Level disc golf course and 9 hole putter course. We host weekly events on Saturdays, the BRAWL (Blue Ridge Area Winter League) from December-February, and the Timber Ridge Open Tournament each April. The course set-up changes throughout the year but is open for play, all we ask is that you call or email ahead of time to reserve a tee-time. |
